Radiant Rural Halls

a selfie of me with the Kings Playhouse Sign which says Welcome Lou Sheppard Artist In Residence

Hello! This week (April 2-10) Im in residence at the Kings Playhouse in Georgetown, Prince Edward Island. I’ll be working through some new ideas about dawn and dusk as queer times of day, and thinking about queerness in rural environments. I’ll be hosting an open studio event on April 9 (Saturday) to show what I’ve been thinking while I’m here. This project is supported by This Town Is Small Artist Run Centre and is part of a larger initiative - Radiant Rural Halls - to activate rural community centres with contemporary art. An idea so near and dear to my heart! I hope the initiative spreads to more rural areas!!!
